Switching between SIMs

Learn how to use GigSky for mobile data while keeping your regular SIM active for calls and texts.

You can use your GigSky eSIM for mobile data while keeping your regular SIM active for calls and texts. However, your regular carrier may charge roaming fees when you use it abroad.

To help avoid roaming charges, you can turn off your regular SIM and use only your GigSky eSIM for mobile data. You can still make calls and send messages through internet-based apps like WhatsApp and FaceTime.

Use GigSky for mobile data

Select GigSky as your mobile-data SIM:

  • iPhone: Go to Settings > Cellular or Mobile Data > Cellular Data, then select GigSky.

  • Samsung Galaxy: Go to Settings > Connections > SIM manager > Primary SIM, then select GigSky for mobile data.

  • Google Pixel: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs, select your GigSky eSIM, and turn on Mobile Data.

Avoid roaming charges

If your device has a mobile-data switching option, turn it off. This prevents your regular SIM from automatically using mobile data when GigSky isn't available.
